Robots aren’t like humans who can do a lot of different things. They’re designed for very specific tasks like vacuuming our homes, assembling cars in a factory, or exploring the surface of other planets. So even though it may be a while before we have a general household robot that can do it all, robots are still really important because they can do some things incredibly well even better than humans. So today, we're going to take a look at the role of AI in overcoming three key challenges in the field of robotics: localization, planning, and manipulation.

Americans produce about five pounds of waste per person per day. Over 90% of this waste is recoverable in some way.
The massive amount of waste needs to be sorted, and robots powered by artificial intelligence can be trained to sort trash accurately.
The AI's core technology is a vision system that is able to recognize specific pieces of garbage, no matter how mangled or dirty it might be.

Ultimate Fact presents Top 20 Amazing Robot Animals That Will Blow Your Mind. Millions of years of evolution have allowed animals to develop some elegant and highly efficient solutions to problems like locomotion, flight, and dexterity. Specifically, developers try to give their products the appropriate appearance and give robots all the advantages of the representatives of fauna. Let’s look at the top 20 amazing robot animals that will blow your mind.
1. Big Dog Robot
The first robot on our list embodies the dreams of the American infantrymen. This assistant created precisely for these strong guys, literally carries all the weight that previously had to drag the soldiers themselves. To be honest, it does not really remind you of a dog. However, it still can follow a person even with a load of up to 500 kg.
2. Robot Fish
First, that can be said is that this particular robot came out very beautiful. It turned out so impressive because with the next level inventions, it completely imitates all the habits and movements of fish, and can easily be confused with the real one. Today, several dozen of these robotic fish are in different sizes and various breeds.
3. Robot Bird
Back in 2011, the world saw the first robot bird. The scenery is extraordinary, because the robot imitating albatross moves, floats and flies precisely like its feathered prototype. Today there are more than 20 such robots, and each of them is unique.
4. Robot Snake
Of course, not all robot things that actually exist have a purely military purpose. For example, the snake robot that may seem scary at first. Its tasks are more than noble - it seeks and saves people in places where no one can get in. For example, under the rubble after earthquakes or mine accidents.
5. Robot Cheetah
As you know, the world-famous runner Usain Bolt is capable of overtaking a real cheetah. But a cheetah robot can easily catch up with and outrun them both. With the fastest predator, the robot has little in common but speed.
6. Robot octopus
One of the most exciting amazing robots that really exist is octopus. It was created for deep-sea exploration and today is used for its intended purpose. Silicone tentacles are driven by electric motors and accelerate the octopus to 20 cm/sec.
7. Robot Shark
After the creation of the robot-fish baton was taken by military engineers and scientists, who created a robot, imitating the most ferocious marine predator. The sample of this swimming robot shark presented to the public has a length of only 1.5 meters, but it still makes a striking impression.
8. Robot Spider T8
Not an animal, of course, but we couldn’t mention it. Spider robot skeleton is printed on a 3D printer. T8 is one of the most shocking and amazing robots that really exist. It has several kits, including a realistic coating.
9. Robot Jellyfish
One of the most beautiful and harmonious robot animals actually exists, is this jellyfish It is very much like a real jellyfish, maybe a little mechanized... It can be used in many areas, from pure entertainment in the aquarium to work as an underwater radio anchor in the open sea, leading ships and planes.
10. Bionic Kangaroo robot
Scientists have achieved a major breakthrough - the robot’s motor system returns the energy spent on the jump and uses it to make a new jump. This saves significant resources and can be used for new inventions and discoveries. The kangaroo robot can only jump and positions itself more as a robot than a mass-produced toy, but things can change in the future.
11. The NeCoRo robot
Like other new technology developments in the Land of the Rising Sun, Japanese robotic animals are of high quality and extensive functionality. NeCoRo is covered with soft wool and looks like a live pet, both in appearance and behavior.
12. BionicANTs
For the BionicANTs, Festo has not only taken the delicate anatomy of the natural ant as a role model. For the first time, the cooperative behaviour of the creatures is also transferred to the world of technology using complex control algorithms.
13. Scorpion Hexapod Robot
In the animal kingdom, a hexapod is the name of a six-legged arthropod or a true insect. In the field of robotics, it is a term used for a six-legged robot. A group of students at Ghent University in Belgium have created a 3D printed robot that looks like something from a nightmare or a futuristic sci-fi movie.
19. Festo - BionicOpter
Now this robot that actually exists was unveiled by the German technology company Festo. BionicOpter, is a fully functional robotic dragonfly. It can fly forwards, backwards, hover and even fly sideways—just like a real dragonfly. Its introduction marks another step forward in robotics engineering.
20. Aibo - Sony Robotic Dog
This Artificial Intelligence puppy Aibo is one of those inventions you must have, especially if you have a kid. His character is unique and will depend on how the owner educates him.

The Narwal Freo Z Ultra robotic vacuum cleans the most like a human that I have ever seen. With the Dual RGB cameras and Dual AI chips this uses an adaptive cleaning strategy to clean messes like you or I would. Using DirtSense 2.0 technology this knows the difference between dry and wet messes and adjust its settings accordingly. When approaching a dry mess it lifts the mops, boost suction and cleans both horizontally and vertically until the mess is gone. Similarly when a wet mess is encountered the vacuum is disabled so it doesn't suck up moisture into the dust bin, side brush and center brush are raised, extra downward pressure is applied to the mops and this cleans both vertically and horizontally. Most impressively this returns to clean the mops and if it senses dirt it will return to the area and clean again repeating the process until the mess is completely gone. I have never seen anything like this. This is for sure the smartest and most efficient robotic vacuum I have used.

ROB 102: Introduction to Artificial Intelligence and Programming was first taught in Fall 2021 at the University of Michigan.
The course is about learning computer programming for the C++ and Julia languages in a way that builds understanding of artificial intelligence and its algorithmic foundations. It does not require previous programming experience.
The course is run by the new U-M Robotics Department, the first robotics department among top-ten engineering schools.
Many of the lectures and activities from ROB 102 are available online:
https://robotics102.github.io/
However, many course activities also require the featured robot.
Topics covered include:
• Sense-Plan-Act paradigm
• Finite state machines and Reactive automata
• Feedback control
• Wall following and Subsumption architectures
• Potential Field navigation and Optimization algorithms
• A-Star algorithm and Graph search
• Neural networks and Image classification

Watch as one of the creators behind Ameca, the lifelike robot that went viral on social media, shows off more of its lifelike behavior at CES 2022. Then we take a stroll through memory lane back to 2019 when the creator of Sophia discusses his thoughts on the future of robotics and AI.

This video features ReMEmbR, a project that combines LLMs, VLMs, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) to enable robots to reason and take actions over what they see during a long-horizon deployment to answer user queries and produce navigation goals.
The demo uses NVIDIA Isaac ROS robotics framework running on a Nova Carter robot developed by NVIDIA and Segway.
Watch as the robot is teleoperated around a large building while recording its pose and observations (as captioned by the VILA visual language model running on board the NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin).
The observations are inserted into a database of memories that the ReMEmBr LLM-based agent reasons over to answer queries like, “Can you take me somewhere to get a snack?” In response, the robot reasons and comes up with a goal pose to navigate to.
